Please click on the link to view John Piper, “Is Faith Meritorious?” A John Piper article on the Society of Evangelical Arminians website? Yes indeed, for in addressing the question, “Is faith meritorious?” he gives an Arminian answer and unwittingly also makes a strong case for the universal provision of forgiveness that is yet conditional on faith for application. All in all, a rather surprising presentation from arch Calvinist John Piper unintentionally arguing for some Arminian theology. This is not too unusual though. When Calvinists have their guard down, and they are relaying what the Bible says, Arminian theology can tend to come through.
