At one point, this piece refers to the “awesome” power of free will God has given us. From an Arminian perspective, such a reference should be understood in light of the doctrines of total depravity and prevenient grace, i.e. that every part of human nature has been impacted by sin so that we cannot seek God or believe the gospel on our own, but need God’s initiating and enabling grace to do so. Still, we are made in the image of God, free will is part of that, and it is literally awesome because it is a gift of God and part of his image.
