The paper argues that John 3:14-21 provides a summary of John’s view of salvation and Judgement that paves a middle path between the two extremes of the reality of God’s judgment and Universalism, by declaring God’s love for the world and saving intentions, yet also allowing people to reject his saving purposes, and by doing so, judge themselves.
